Ranked five stars for employability in the 2021 QS World University Star rankings, graduates of Western Sydney University are poised for career success after university.
The University tailors all its courses to give international students the skills and knowledge needed to be job ready and to have a thriving career. The University has a firm commitment to prepare students for employers are looking for in graduates by incorporating practical work experience in many of their degrees. In addition, many degrees possess industry accreditation, ensuring student graduate work ready.
The careers service provided at the University can help students plan their career, offer them feedback on their resume, help with their job hunt as well as prepare them for their interviews. It offers career as well as resume advice, jobs, both on and off-campus. There are also volunteer opportunities; workshops to build their practical job-seeking skills; career expos and events to meet their future employers, as well as industry peers; and tailored information for the University’s international students.
Western Sydney University is ranked in the top 250 universities globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, placing it firmly among top two per cent of international universities.

The University is also ranked 34th in the world in the Times Higher Education 2021 Young University Rankings, – now ranking sixth in Australia. The University is rated five-stars by the QS Global Rankings for teaching, employability, internationalisation, facilities, innovation and inclusiveness.

Students aiming to study at Western should demonstrate the requisite academic ability. The competition for places is high and international students looking to study at the institution are subject to the same entry standards as Australian residents. Students are encouraged to consult the online handbook for entry requirements for particular degree programs, which may include the need to demonstrate relevant work experience.
International student applicants are required to demonstrate the requisite level of English language proficiency in order to gain admission. For non-first language English speakers and for students who did not previously study with English as the medium of instruction (criteria applies), results and scores from an approved English proficiency examination must be supplied before a full offer of a place is made.
